Amicalola Falls photo by Isabel Glaese

Get excited as you are about to virtually tour the scenery of a North Georgia waterfall. This field trip will take you up to the North Georgia Mountains to the breathtaking Amicalola Falls State Park in the month of October. You will find the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi here, as well as hiking trails that lead to beautiful scenery. From this virtual field trip we hope to educate you on the climate, soils, rocks, and landforms that make up the northern part of Georgia. Georgia has many different physiographic regions that comprise the state. We will be discussing two that are most prominent in this region. We hope that by the end of the trip you will know a little more about Georgian geography, as well as general geographic landforms. We hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fall approaching in Georgia. Check out our stops on the map and get ready for your very own virtual field trip!
